My name is Rich Kelley and I am the owner/operator of the Mega Mall. Along with my team of cashiers and over 220 unique vendors allow me to welcome you to our wonderful and amazing antique and collectible mall. Our famous tag line here at the Mega Mall is "Michigan's Most Unique Shopping Experience" simply because it is.
The founders, Herb and Liz Karkau, visioned the Mega Mall not to be your traditional antique Mall. Instead of high priced, you can't touch, antiques and merchandise only geared toward collectors; the Karkau's opened a mall in 1995 that attracted everybody. All types of merchandise was welcomed from museum quality heirlooms to good ole fashion junk to some new merchandise. In the late 1990's it was unheard of for an antique mall to allow 1980's toys like Strawberry Shortcake or that years hottest collectible.... TY Beanie Babies. The Karkau's knew that allowing hot trends, even though new, would bring the people in.
The Mega Mall has been called a "trend setter" in the business and has been recognized as being years ahead of what antique and collectible malls are becoming today. The Mega Mall continues to sell high quality antiques and hard to find collectibles but, just a couple of aisles over you will find new furniture, beautiful handmade jewelry, garage sale items, unique home decor, man cave items and a huge selection of Avon. This incredible mix of merchandise is exactly what the Karkau's had envisioned and exactly what I took over doing in 2002 and continue to do today.
It is the vast mix of merchandise that makes us an industry leader. Once upon a time traditional antique malls snubbed their noses at us as a "low end antique mall" but now they too are understanding the need for diversity and are copying our flexible selling format. You will be amazed the first time you walk in, be sure to give yourself plenty of time, it's a big place!
Customer Service
Our number 1 priority here at the Mega Mall is for you to have an enjoyable experience at our establishment. Customer Service has and always will be our focus. So often I visit antique malls and there just is nobody on the floor to ask questions or to open a locked showcase for me. At the Mega Mall we are unique in that we have a dedicated team of cashiers and floor workers to greet you, carry items to the front or to your car, assist you with locked showcases, answer questions whenever possible and to help with overall mall security. At any given time we have no less then 5 and up to 8 workers ready and willing to assure that you have a pleasant shopping experience.
Pricing
You will not believe our pricing at the Mega Mall! Most of our dealers are just collectors that have too much stuff. They need to get rid of stuff so they can go buy more. The vast majority of our dealers understand that in todays economy if you want it gone then you need to price it right.... and they do. This is why the Mega Mall has been repeatedly voted "mall most shopped by other dealers" They buy here and go back to their mall or shop and get a nice mark up. We urge you to come often. There simply is a vast amount of merchandise that comes in and goes out everyday.
